The ECU is pre-programmed from the factory  to manage a variety of parameters. Ultimately, this program determines how your engine runs. However, the manufacturer's program includes a number of compromises and limitations, both for engine reliability and  to meet emissions testing and other regulatory requirements. at certain speeds.

Suzuki Remapping & ECU Tuning

When we develop our Suzuki remaps we start by running the standard bike on our dyno and measuring the power output. We also use standalone diagnostic equipment to monitor every aspect of engine function. We monitor and record air-fuel ratio, throttle plate opening, spark timing, injector duty cycle, lambda readings, engine knock and other parameters. This is done at various accelerator twist grip positions and the whole process is repeated for every mode that the bike has. We spend a lot of time building a complete picture of how the factory set the bike up and where we can make improvements.

We will spend a lot of time test riding our development bikes to analyse how they ride in the real world. We also speak to other riders and existing customers to research any common complaints.

Our philosophy on what makes a good remap is so much more than the maximum power output. We aim to provide the rider a remapped Suzuki that rides well in the real world with a linear, progressive and smooth power delivery and throttle response.

The real world consequences of these compromises are evident in things like hard acceleration and flat spots at certain points in the rev range;
Factors that directly affect manageability. Previously, the only way to change these settings was to use a stacked fuel module, such as B. a Power Commander. There are still reasons to go this route as a fuel module can be easily removed, restoring your bike to full original condition. Remap your ECU But as an alternative it is now possible to directly reprogram an ECU chip. The chip uses "flash memory," a type of solid-state software coding. Therefore, overwriting the chip with a new program is called direct ECU flashing, flashing, or mapping.

The benefits of ECU flashing by The Remap Link aren't necessarily headline-grabbing performance gains, but the achievement of smoother, more responsive power delivery throughout the RPM range. His main goal is to improve driving ability. It is also possible to unlock additional functions and capabilities of the ECU, for example on the latest Kawasaki ZX10r we can activate the automatic signal function, adjust the rev limiters, adjust the fan temperature and adjust the idle speed, to name  a few.
